The ability to apply graphics to leather provides designers with unlimited opportunities to create their leather pieces with color images-something that wasn’t readily available until now-no more painstakingly slow and expensive hand painting or even more expensive screen printing-with our digital printing techniques it is possible to create truly unique custom leather pieces, be that footwear, furniture, book cover, car seat cover, clothing, accessories.
Printers have been using screen printing and dye-sublimation inkjet printing onto leather for a long time. The KMAJET technology enables on-demand mass customization of leather products by providing a photographic image quality, no change to the feel of the material, and improved durability compared to sublimation-printed leather.
The big advantage of digital printing is that designers have the flexibility to cost effectively get samples of any of their designs. Digital printing saves a lot of steps in the production process, especially in terms of sizing, vs. screen printing. And digital printing at 2880dpi provides a superior image to dye sublimation.
The KMAJET technology is basically a direct onto media method. Images can be logos, patterns or solid colors, allowing the use of digitally printed leather for products like handbags, luggage, shoes, furniture and automotive interiors.
While it’s a common practice by many other leather printer manufacturers to pre-treat leather before printing, due to the special chemical properties of leather, which inevitably leads to higher cost, complicated and time-consuming printing process ,as well as health threat. Our Eco-solvent leather ink, requiring no pretreatment, saves all these problems and has been receiving positive feedback from all of our customers.
Digital printing eliminates a lot of the cost because capital required to take leather products to market is drastically reduced. The leather industry has been confined by technology; we’re changing all that.
KMAJET is currently working with some of the biggest names in fashion and footwear, and is taking orders from customers from all over the world.
